Fmr. CIA Chief of Staff: TikTok Can Be a Business Opportunity for Trump and His Friends, Is this a Great Country or What?

COLBERT: “What about the people who make their business on there? Aren’t they going to be hurt by this? How do you help them?”
BASH: “The small business owners who earn a living on TikTok are going to be injured. That was a series consideration that Congress looked at. But this is also a massive national security threat. There are other ways, they can go on other social media platforms,American preference platforms.”
COLBERT: “And somebody could come in, an American could come in and buy this, right?”
BASH: “That’s right. Actually, that’s what Donald Trump wants. So, Donald Trump was against TikTok until his little dance videos went viral. And then, actually, he said, ‘I’m now for TikTok, and when I become president, I want to see if maybe an American group can buy the company.’ And that way, China could sell it to maybe Donald Trump’s friends. Hey, a business transaction opportunity for him, his friends make a buck, China makes a buck, my kids can still watch their slime videos. Is this a great country or what?”
