Morakniv knifes for maintenance of wooden kitchen gear that is in daily use
Talking on Mora knifes to be used as maintenance tools for any wooden kitchen gear and what this can be used for.
Most of my daily used household and kitchen gear is made mostly from wood, avoiding any disposable plastic, cheap bending metal or easy bracing ceramics but does the same job without issues. Enjoying the soft and warm feel of handling wood on daily basis.
As you can see, this Mora bushcraft carving knifes are not only usable for working in the woods, but also integrating nicely for some domestic needs as well.

Preparing for next Hiking trip, mostly with minimal woolly DIY equipment, what’s in my Pack in 2024
Right, going through my woolly DIY Outdoor kit I’m planing to use for the next hiking trip to come, in a few weeks time.
Since the whole of my kit is pretty much already extensively tried and tested and the overall equipment matching the style of outdoor trips I usually tend to-do, it’s sorted out quite nicely to suit my needs.
But still there are some things to tweak around with, like not taking my trusty multi usable heavy Khukuri this time, and asking you what you think about making a choice between taking the Lars Fält Bushcraft knife only or swooping it over to an Opinel No.12 knife together with Opinel Nr.12 saw instead. (let me know what you think about it, your thoughts on that, below into the comment section please) many thanks in advance.

Titanium madness not all of it is needed on a hike or camping in my Rucksack
Yeah over the last 20 years a lot of titanium kit piling up in my kit-box, not being used outdoors but rather at home, now replacing any broken ceramic cups over time.
I did spend quite some money on this nice titanium gear over time, but only a very few special items made it to be part of my permanent core outdoor equipment, boiled down to minimalistic set of items to carry, some of the titanium gear even has been replaced by wooden gear, because in some cases wood weights less than titanium.
So my recommendation for you, don’t go crazy on getting about everything and all, made from titanium, but only the few useful items to reduce on overall weight and keep the amount of items as minimal as possible.

Berlebach Mini and Report wooden tripod, for Bird and wildlife watching in the outdoors
Quick day out into the cold but dry January woods. A slightly different video today, talking about traditional wooden Berlebach tripods and what wide range of advantages and possibilities for mounting Binoculars or Scopes to it, with the right accessories this sort of old fashion style little helper can offer to the needs for Birds and wildlife spotting in the outdoors.
With a mounting plate I show how my Docter (Zeiss) EDF 7x40 B/GA (now market under NOBLEX NF 7x40 B/GA) and an old Nickel/Marburg 15x60X spotting scope can be used together with the Berlebach Report 863/75 Tripod
Alternatively this tripod can be mounted onto a separated wheeled studio dolly made by Berlebach from wood as well.

DIY Titanium Ulu an alternative to a neck knife all-purpose all-round hiking bushcraft cutting edge
A quick presentation on my small little Titanium DIY Ulu, that can be used as a neck knife or hanging on a rucksack shoulder strap to have it always ready to be used.
This sort of cutting edge in traditional Inuit Savoonga - Fish River style and full tang design, coming in very useful for field dressing and food preparation on the go or at camp.
Additionally:
Apart from being very lightweight and rust free, this titan Ulu is absolutely anti-magnetic, so it will not affect a compass needle at all, even if it's right on top of it.
If that's not enough, titanium can hold the sharpened edge extremely well for a long time, too.

Alcohol stove, Swedish Military, Trangia, Evernew Titan, Hobo + suitable fuel container
Today I share with you some simple and suitable options to carry alcohol fuel, to-be used with the well known Trangia stove, Swedish military stove and the modern lightweight Evernew Titanium stove, to-be used together with my DIY titanium Hobo.
These are my recommendations, based on my own experiences from the last few decades of using this type of simple stove for cooking in the field.
At the same time this is a bit of my new way to record the separated audio track with a Tascam DR-10L lav-mic to-be synchronised over the video recording, since my little Sony RX100M5A camera has only a bad onboard microphone, to optimise for quality, hope this working out as expected ;-)

Day out in the woods with a Spanish Bota Wineskin, having Bannock snack and Tea, wool Hammock setup
Finally I came around to have a day out into the woods for another test setup of my woolly DIY Hammock with a easy alternative tie up solution, using the Whoopie-sling, which works out extremely well this time, while having a quick refreshment out of a original Basque Country Bilbao Wineskin on the way into the woods.
Before setting up the Hammock, having a quick DIY Bannock and Tea snack as a moral booster.

Dragon Bannock DIY snack for on a hike or Bushcraft Rucksack ration pack
Had a bit of a leftover minced meat balls in my fridge and thought to make use of it as a nice addition as stuffing for some nice handy pre-baked Bannock bread for on a day out in my Rucksack, as a very energy rich ration snack.
So not much is needed to make a few quick and easy spicy Dragon Bannocks beforehand, baked with a small heavy cast iron Pretomax skillet at home.

Dyneema rip-stop pattern DIY Loden wool Hammock Part-2 – What's in my Pack project continues
This is the 2nd part of my woolly Mammoth Loden Hammock, now in full swing, whizzing the needle through the wool cloth and getting tangled up in the Dyneema string.
This task takes some patient and some time without much to see but with dragging time to spend for the threading to put into the material, forming the intended internal rip-stop net that still allowing some movement and shift, but avoiding to much of a slip.

Hangout test setup DIY Loden wool Hammock Part-3 – What's in my Pack project continues
Slowly coming along, stitching this Dyneema D-75 Bowstring strands in to the Loden wool cloth for reinforcing it to take my weight and making it more ware resistant during use too.
So after about a 1/3 of the needed stitching is done, feeding the Dyneema strands through the Loden Wool I had to give it a try-out, putting my new DIY Hammock in to a quick Hangout test setup in the local park to see how it's working and showing you the progress of this wacky project and how I'm getting along with it.

Woolly, woolly in the woods DIY Loden wool Hammock final Part-4 – What's in my Pack project
Right, after weeks of endless stitching about 200m of Dyneema D-75 Bowstring strands in to the wool Loden cloth, I finally came to an end, finished it off.
Packing and wrapping everything together once again and hitting the under grow of a small nearby forest to try out my newly created project under real condition as I would face on a longer trip.
Besides, winter is approaching fast now, with temperatures on +1° over the daytime and dropping below 0° to -2° at night at the beginning of December at my location.
So what else could be better than being wrapped up and layered with 100% wool all around for best possible comfort.
Giving a quick overview of a woolly Loden hunting trousers, made exactly for this sort of weather condition, too. This trousers are made by Paul&Klosterhuise and a quick glimpse on my Icelandic pullover sweater.
Lastly for a treat I'm doing some quick fry up Turkey lunch with burned onions on my Titanium DIY Hobo stove as a treat for myself.

Smallest public Outdoor Library with a view over the Pont and a bench for reading on site
Must have been put up fairly recently because I haven't seen this tiny little Outdoor Library at this site before.
A nice touch of the local council to provide a place for relaxing and reading, just next to the Pont under the open sky.
Wikipedia entry:
Heinrich Christian Wilhelm Busch (14 April 1832 – 9 January 1908) was a German humorist, poet, illustrator, and painter. He published wildly innovative illustrated tales that remain influential to this day.
Busch drew on the tropes of folk humour as well as a profound knowledge of German literature and art to satirize contemporary life, any kind of piety, Catholicism, Philistinism, religious morality, bigotry, and moral uplift.
His mastery of drawing and verse became deeply influential for future generations of comic artists and vernacular poets. Among many notable influences, The Katzenjammer Kids were inspired by Busch's Max and Moritz. Today, the Wilhelm Busch Prize and the Wilhelm Busch Museum help maintain his legacy. The 175th anniversary of his birth in 2007 was celebrated throughout Germany. Busch remains one of the most influential poets and artists in Western Europe.

Traditional charcoal Pocket stove, Hand warmer – What's in my Winter pack
Have you ever been cored up in cold weather, freezing your hand while waiting for a Bus or Train sitting on a bench or elsewhere?
Well there is a solution for that, namely a cheap old style charcoal Pocket-stove puts an end to it with getting cold and stiff fingers.
Just lighten up a Charcoal stick and stuff it into your pockets to keep you warm and comfortable, specially if you're wearing only a jacket or coat that is not quite up for freezing conditions.

Sami style Tea+Sugar bag – DIY wool Loden Hogswatch special project
Yeah, since the year is almost passed by, heading in to the Hogswatch night winter festival, very similar to what is known as Xmas this day's, well the season for freezing temperatures, snow, hot drinks and fat foot, followed by lots of sweets and a big hangover to call it the year well ticked off. The season for sending a small gift to a good friend to cheer him up.
So this is a quick small project of making a Lapland Sami style Coffee and Sugar bag to complete the woolly kit in the pack.
But instead of making this bag out of Reindeer leather as the classic Sami bag would be, I'm making this twin out of very tight and tough wool Loden like the Rucksack to match.
Happy Hogswatch to my mate Andy in Gloucester ;-)
The original Sami Lapland reindeer lather coffee+Sugar bag can be found from KERO in Sweden:

What it got to do with the Hogfather: It's Hogswatch (equivalent to Christmas) on the Discworld and the Hogfather has gone missing, requiring Death to take his place while his granddaughter Susan endeavors to find out what has happened.

Woolly DIY Belt with Titan Buckle and a little secret
Latest DIY project to keep my trousers up on the trail.
Working on this little project for some time now, in on-and-off mode, since there is no rush to finish it in a hurry, making use of the simple Speedy-Stitcher tool for the leather part of the belt.
But because winter is almost gone now and spring lurking around the corner, it's once again time to get ready for the next trip to come.

Speedy stitcher DIY tool recommendation
In this video, I just wanted to give you a quick recommendation for a very underestimated useful hand tool, that coming in very handy for heavy DIY stitching or repair jobs, making live much easier with great results.
A few recommendations on the different needles and accessories to complete the ability to make use of its full potential for this nifty tool.
There are several similar tools around, but the original “Speedy Stitcher” sewing awl is the best, invented in 1909.

Woolly Mammoth DIY Loden wool Hammock Part-1 - What's in my Pack project continues
Had this sort of DIY wool blanket Hammock project on mind for some time now, on how to replace the many Nylon Hammocks in my stock to a woolly blanket style hammock without compromising for to much on weight, but rather reduce on bulk to carry at the same time.
So this is the 1st part of my DIY project to make my very own Woolly-Mammoth Loden Hammock.
