He moved to El Salvador in 2021 to found My First Bitcoin. In a world at the crossroads, he sees Bitcoin as humanity’s best chance to build something better. In the past he was the Chief Scientist of BP’s oil and gas division, served as Under Secretary for Science in the Department of Energy, in the Obama administration, and was the vice-president of Caltech, one of the most prestigious scientific institutes in the world. Steven is the author of the book “Unsettled: What Climate Science Tells Us, What It Doesn’t, and Why It Matters”, where he argues that while there are some basic facts about climate change that experts agree upon, the meaning of those facts is not so settled, and mainstream scientific studies do not support the notion that there is any kind of climate crisis at all. This conversation discusses Climate Realism - the sane approach to the “Climate Change” alarmism, and the role of media in shaping public perception. She was fired from Levi's last year after speaking out against the lockdowns and specifically the harms caused to children in San Francisco; Public schools were closed for 19 months during Covid in San Francisco for 50,000+ children: the longest closure in the world, while (privileged) private schools opened up in 2020. Most of the affected children are underprivileged, and for them Jennifer fought while exposing the hypocrisy of the "Liberal Democrats" who pretend to advocate for equality & equity, and exposing the woke culture, both of Levis and the public. My guest today is John Dennehy, the Director of “My First Bitcoin” (Mi Primer Bitcoin), an educational nonprofit which helped educate 35,000 students in El Salvador using Bitcoin as a tool for financial sovereignty. John became an activist in the wake of September 11th. While in jail after protesting the Iraq War, he decided to leave the country and moved to Ecuador in 2005. He is a best-selling author, award-winning journalist and has written about Bitcoin in Latin America for the Guardian, Al-Jazeera, and the BBC. He moved to El Salvador in 2021 to found My First Bitcoin. In a world at the crossroads, he sees Bitcoin as humanity’s best chance to build something better. His first child was born in San Salvador in 2023.

In this episode John shares his inspiring journey from activism in the aftermath of 9/11 to founding My First Bitcoin He explains how his perspective shifted from resisting the harmful old systems to actively building new ones.
