A Cook County judge has issued a restraining order preventing Dolton, Illinois Mayor Tiffany Henyard from making any new appointments without the approval of the village board. The decision came after a four-hour hearing in response to Henyard's controversial firing of the current village manager, Keith Freeman, and the appointment of a replacement without board approval. Additionally, the mayor's appointments for a new police chief and village attorney have been blocked. Henyard is also under investigation for mishandling village finances, with findings revealing a $3.65 million deficit in the Dolton Village General Fund.
