The chapter concludes with a significant uproar in Ephesus, instigated by Demetrius, a silversmith who fears that Paul's message threatens the trade of making silver shrines of Artemis. Despite their warnings, Paul is determined to continue. They reach Caesarea and stay with Philip the evangelist, where the prophet Agabus dramatically predicts Paul’s arrest by binding his own hands and feet with Paul’s belt. Paul remains resolute, stating his willingness to be bound and even to die for the name of the Lord Jesus. Upon arriving in Jerusalem, Paul is welcomed by the brethren and reports in detail what God has done among the Gentiles through his ministry. To appease concerns among Jewish believers about his teachings, Paul agrees to participate in a purification ritual at the temple. However, some Jews from Asia stir up the crowd against him, accusing him of teaching against the Jewish law and defiling the temple by bringing Gentiles into it. A riot ensues, and Paul is seized and beaten until Roman soldiers intervene and take him into custody. As Paul is being led away, he asks for and is granted permission to address the hostile crowd.

Paul begins his defense by declaring his clear conscience, which provokes an outburst from the high priest Ananias, who orders Paul to be struck on the mouth. Paul rebukes Ananias, not realizing he is the high priest, and then cleverly divides the council by declaring his Pharisaic belief in the resurrection, which leads to a heated dispute between the Pharisees and Sadducees. Fearing for Paul's safety, the Roman commander takes him back into custody. That night, the Lord appears to Paul, encouraging him to be courageous as he must also testify in Rome. The next morning, more than forty Jews conspire to kill Paul and take an oath not to eat or drink until they succeed. Paul's nephew learns of the plot and informs the Roman commander, who arranges for Paul to be escorted by a large detachment of soldiers to Governor Felix in Caesarea to ensure his safety. The commander also writes a letter to Felix, outlining the situation and Paul's Roman citizenship. Paul arrives in Caesarea and is kept under guard in Herod's palace until his accusers arrive.

They encounter a severe storm, and after many days of battling the elements, they lose hope of being saved. Paul encourages everyone on board, sharing a vision he received from an angel assuring him that they will all survive, though the ship will be lost. Following Paul's advice, the crew takes measures to lighten the ship and eventually, they run aground on the island of Malta. He heals many of the sick on the island, including the father of the chief official, Publius. After three months, they continue their journey and finally reach Rome. Paul is allowed to live under house arrest, where he continues to preach the gospel boldly and without hindrance to all who visit him. He meets with Jewish leaders in Rome, explaining the kingdom of God and persuading them about Jesus from the Law of Moses and the Prophets. Some believe, while others do not. The book of Acts ends with Paul proclaiming the gospel in Rome for two years, demonstrating the unstoppable nature of the message of Jesus Christ.
