Decided to make a short digital film of sorts with footage from a few different POVs while playing SOG, a DLC for ARMA 3. No copyright infringement is intended, as none is claimed by me: the song "Run Through The Jungle" belongs to CCR and whoever owns the music rights. This is a non-monetized video art project I thought of while testing a scenario. The overall theme is to show how messed up war is, that even the innocent suffers. Those I've spoken with, that have experienced armed conflict and loss of human life during firefights, say mostly the same thing: they were less concerned with killing, and more concerned with making sure they, and the ones to their left or right were ok; if it required killing, then so be it, that's what they agreed to, wasn't it? The real heroes are six feet deep, the others are either lucky, or damned.

Video of a scenario I threw together testing out "Secret Weapons" Mod added to my WW2 mod list. UK vs Nazis in a combined arms assault on an old fort being used as an outpost. I messed up by treating artillery like lightning; it may sound like thunder, and it's said that lightening doesn't always strike the same place twice, but artillery plays by its own rules. Fun Fact: Sound travels at a rate of 343 m/s. If you ever see a large explosion off in the distance, count the seconds it takes until you hear the explosion, multiply the seconds by 343 (meters), and you get an estimate of the distance between yourself and the explosion. I think ARMA and the mods did a great job simulating such, based on the plane exploding on impact at 1:16. I know this is only a game, but it really helps to bring home the reality of what was asked of a generation: to place their own interests on-hold for that of "the greater good". Like my great uncle that served in WW2 said, "We were all just boys, we didn't really hate the Germans. We just did what was asked of us, and really wanted to chase girls and have fun, just like those German boys wanted to that we had to fight." The year was 1963, a small rural area about an hour North of Cora, Wyoming, where a secluded farmhouse occupied by strange and secretive people became the center of a National Incident most none have heard about: The raiding of the Symbionese Liberation Army's original Chapter Lodge. Tension and suspicions grew in the community around the SLA Lodge when it was founded a year prior, as more and more bizarrely dressed and poorly groomed beatnik-type young adults trickled into the growing compound. What was once a quiet old farmhouse would soon be transformed into a fortified compound atop a hill. Distant residents could hear regular periods of prolonged gunfire, from the area several times a week, far more in volume than a few friends target practicing. The bank in Marbleton, due South of Cora, was robbed one morning by multiple masked gunmen carrying rifles and machineguns, leaving a trail of bodies and brass that lead to their compound. Soon angered townsfolk amassed and armed with weapons of their own lay siege to the SLA compound for two-days, awaiting the arrival of a small National Guard unit.
