I've been noticing a lot of misplaced brand loyalty lately and the idea that companies are our friends and we need to be super thankful for the things they do. I completely disagree with this notion and I truly believe it's used by massive corporations to control people and sway public opinion. Obviously, there are creative individuals within every company who deserve a ton of respect and really do want to create art and make good things for people. That said, at the top of these companies, most of the executives themselves are only interested in one thing - money. They don't care what you or I think and they double or triple down on mistakes because it's easier than admitting they were wrong. One of the most unfortunate things about the internet is that it has made it extremely easy for people to ruin others' fun and hurt them remotely. I'm getting very tired of this, personally, and wanted to talk a little bit about it. Call of Duty hackers have been a known problem for a long time now. On PC, this is even worse, as it can be an outright security risk to your machine and private information. On console, it's mainly just a silly nuisance that makes the people doing it look idiotic.
