Me and my family spent the morning at Tembeling Beach. On the island of Nusa Penida, next to Bali, it's the perfect location to chill and unwind. The best part about this spot is that it has a couple of freshwater pools. So if want to wash off the sea or need to cool down, these pools are perfect. One word of advice is the single person-wide path that leads down to the beach from the main road. This is fine for walking but only the experienced scooter driver should attempt this route. As alternative is to leave your scooter at the top of the hill and pay a local scooter taxi driver to take you down, at very low cost. Google mas takes you to the wrong place, in this video I show you where to go. Quick video of our visit to Crystal Bay Beach, on the island of Nusa Penida, next to Bali. We got there in the afternoon and caught the sun setting over the water. As the sun set, the sky turned pink and was one of the most spectacular sun sets I've ever seen. There are local shops next to the beach, selling fruits, snacks, drinks and corn-on-the-cob cooked over coals. Makes for a perfect afternoon/evening visit. Not just a waterfall, but some pretty fun rapids too and a large rock to jump into the water from. We spent half a day at this beautiful place and the icing on the cake was the fantastic cafe at the entrance. We had so much fun here that it's my pleasure to introduce you to it. Once you've parked your scooter, it takes about twenty minutes to walk through the forest and reach the waterfall. The entry fee (in mid 2024) is 20,000 IDR per person, about £1 or $1.30. You don't need a guide, its an easy route to take and clearly signposted. The water isn't deep enough to swim in but the waterfall is spectacular to stand under. Enjoy! Walkthrough of the hike up Trunyan Hill, next to Lake Batur in Northern Bali. A lovely little hike that presents a challenge due to it's steep incline, rocky ground and slippery surfaces. Not very touristy at all and a bit "off the beaten path". A scenic scooter ride to get there takes you around the edge of Lake Batur and offers a few places to stop and admire the views over the lake. In this video, you'll find our how to find the entrance to the walk and which way to go at certain parts. Near the top, you're rewarded with a little Warung (roadside stall) where you can buy some water and food to keep you going on the last leg to the summit. Takes about two hours at a leisurely pace. Quick vid for anyone interested in hiking up Mount Batur in Bali to watch the sunrise at about 6am. This hike is arranged by guides due to the trek being quite dangerous. This video is a typical experience by tourists using these guides, although experiences will vary. We stayed in the Kintamani region for ten days and could see the mountain every morning. We only saw one morning where the mountain was too cloudy at sunrise, otherwise okay. We were picked up at 330am via jeep from our accommodation and taken to the base of the mountain. The incline took about 1.5 hours and we stayed at the top for a couple of hours. The descent was about an hour down the other side of the mountain, where we were picked up and taken back to our lodgings.
