Tembeling Beach, Nusa Penida, Bali - Review & Walk Through
Me and my family spent the morning at Tembeling Beach. On the island of Nusa Penida, next to Bali, it's the perfect location to chill and unwind. The best part about this spot is that it has a couple of freshwater pools. So if want to wash off the sea or need to cool down, these pools are perfect. One word of advice is the single person-wide path that leads down to the beach from the main road. This is fine for walking but only the experienced scooter driver should attempt this route. As alternative is to leave your scooter at the top of the hill and pay a local scooter taxi driver to take you down, at very low cost. Google mas takes you to the wrong place, in this video I show you where to go.
A bit about Tembeling Beach:
Tembeling Beach, nestled on the rugged island of Nusa Penida, Indonesia, is a hidden gem that offers visitors a serene escape into nature's wonders. Accessible via a scenic, adventurous trek through lush forests, this secluded beach is renowned for its crystal-clear turquoise waters, dramatic limestone cliffs, and pristine white sands.
What makes Tembeling Beach truly unique are its natural freshwater pools, which are perfect for a refreshing dip after your trek. These pools, believed to have spiritual significance by locals, are surrounded by lush greenery and offer a tranquil spot for relaxation. The beach itself is relatively small but untouched, making it an ideal destination for those seeking solitude and a connection with nature.
Another interesting fact about Tembeling Beach is the sacred temple nearby, where locals come to pray and perform rituals. This cultural aspect adds a layer of mystique and tradition to your visit, providing a deeper understanding of the island’s heritage.
Tembeling Beach is not just a picturesque spot; it's a slice of paradise that offers both adventure and peace, making it a must-visit destination for travelers exploring Nusa Penida. Whether you're looking to swim in the refreshing pools, take in the breathtaking views, or simply unwind in a peaceful environment, Tembeling Beach offers a truly unforgettable experience.

Quick vid for anyone interested in hiking up Mount Batur in Bali to watch the sunrise at about 6am. This hike is arranged by guides due to the trek being quite dangerous. This video is a typical experience by tourists using these guides, although experiences will vary.
We stayed in the Kintamani region for ten days and could see the mountain every morning. We only saw one morning where the mountain was too cloudy at sunrise, otherwise okay.
We were picked up at 330am via jeep from our accommodation and taken to the base of the mountain. The incline took about 1.5 hours and we stayed at the top for a couple of hours. The descent was about an hour down the other side of the mountain, where we were picked up and taken back to our lodgings.
