Embracing Positivity. Interview with Dr. Tammy. EP #2-2023
Dr. Tammy is a true proponent of embracing positivity to its fullest. Her motto, "you can change the world one smile at a time," is not just a saying, but a way of life that she passionately follows. She firmly believes that genuine happiness and inner peace are attainable by everyone, as they are choices we make rather than mere chance occurrences.
With over 26 years of experience in the field of corrections, she has witnessed individuals at their lowest points—functioning, yet lacking hope, purpose, and direction. This led her to establish her LLC, My SisTa, which focuses on working with returning citizens, at-risk youth, and single parents.
Operating for 7 years now, My SisTa's mission is to bring healing and wholeness to people through acknowledgment. Dr. Tammy firmly believes that when you give voice to your struggles, you can find healing and freedom from them. She advocates for genuine joy, unwavering understanding, and transformative mindset shifts, as she knows these factors can radically change a person's perspective and ultimately transform their life.
Aside from being an accomplished author, Dr. McCotter is an empowering speaker, a prominent community leader, an advocate for youth and victims, and someone who has triumphed over life's challenges.

Sexual Abuse Awareness. Interview with Angel Crandall EP #7-2023
Angel Crandall, a 40-year-old entrepreneur hailing from North Carolina and currently residing in Pitt County alongside her husband Jacoby, graduated from high school in 2002. Mrs. Crandall serves as the Founder and CEO of a nonprofit organization known as Screaming With A Voice NC (SWAV). The impetus for founding SWAV was a profound and tragic event – the untimely and brutal death of a dear friend. Angel's determination to be a voice for the "voiceless" was further fueled by her own childhood experiences, witnessing her mother endure abuse.
On September 29, 2011, Angel took a pivotal step in her mission by applying for her Employer Identification Number (EIN) and registering with the Secretary of State. Since that day, her commitment to advocating for those suffering in silence has not wavered.
Over the course of the past 12 years of her advocacy journey, Angel, together with her dedicated team, has tirelessly worked within the community to raise awareness about issues related to domestic and sexual abuse. A significant development in her mission occurred on April 12, 2022, when Mrs. Crandall initiated a podcast on Facebook Live. In collaboration with her co-host, Mrs. LaKecia Yerby, they shed light on various traumas that individuals may encounter from childhood into adulthood.
Angel's life is guided by her devotion to serving and please God, and she views her mission as a means to serve His people in accordance with His guidance. Since the inception of Screaming With A Voice NC, she has made a solemn vow to serve as the unwavering voice for the "voiceless."
