Walters-Cooke, the son of the legendary Sam Cooke, is an accomplished singer, songwriter, and producer with a notable presence in the music world.

His chosen instrument, alongside his voice, is the piano or keyboard. Phil has been a vocalist since the tender age of nine and embarked on his piano journey seventeen years ago when he lost his eyesight. He received his education at The Little Red School House in New York City, where he honed his vocal techniques. Additionally, he is an alumnus of the Sheffield Institute for the Recording Arts in Phoenix, Maryland, where he completed his studies in audio engineering.

His musical repertoire spans diverse genres, encompassing Gospel, Spiritual, and Inspirational tunes, as well as cherished classics from the 1960s through the 1990s. He takes immense pleasure in performing songs that uplift and inspire my audience.

Phil has graced the stages of prestigious venues including the Lincoln Theater for The Doing Good Network, The WRAL Theater, The North Carolina Science Museum, Miles Of Great Hopes event, Wake Tech Community College (where he performed for special needs students), and The Durham Veterans Administration, where he brought his music to disabled veterans.

With the release of two albums, "You're Everything To Me" and "You Saved Me," along with a collection of singles over the past few years, Phil has proven his dedication to his craft. Notably, he had the esteemed opportunity to record a rendition of "Jesus Gave Me Water," a song originally performed by Sam Cooke and The Soul Stirrers. Currently, he is diligently working in the studio on a reinterpretation of his father's iconic civil rights anthem, “A Change Is Gonna Come.”

At the heart of it all, Phil's objective is to contribute positively to the world through the power of music."
