..back when I used to sell cars I used to always tell people that were frustrated because they couldn't find that exact right color. They found a few that they liked, and It's always great when you can get the exact color you want, and don't get me wrong I would do the same thing. I want the color I want and that's it, but if you had an alternative a second choice I would just tell folks you only see it when you're walking up to the car or when you turn to look at it and check it out when you walk away. DeSantis Approves Bill HB637 Partially Banning Direct-To-Consumer Car Sales in Florida
Big news for car dealerships in Florida, as Governor Ron DeSantis has signed a new law (HB 637) that could change the way you buy your next vehicle. This new law, which takes effect from July 1, prohibits most direct-to-consumer car sales, favoring traditional dealerships over a more direct buying experience.
HB 637 is seen as a win for Florida's car dealers, securing their place in the car-selling market. However, critics argue it could disrupt the business model of companies like Tesla, who sell their vehicles online and through their own retail locations.
But it's not all bad news for these newer manufacturers. Lobbyists have managed to add language to the bill that keeps Tesla galleries open and allows newer manufacturers to hold a franchise dealer license for direct sales of electric vehicles. But this privilege doesn't extend to traditional car makers like GM, Ford, Honda, and Toyota.
The bill also introduces several regulations for manufacturers and dealers. For instance, manufacturers can't reserve or incentivize the sale or lease of vehicles, and they can't require dealers to set vehicle prices at recommended rates.
Supporters of the bill, including Dave Ramba, a lobbyist for the Florida Automobile Dealers Association, argue that it will promote competition among dealers, leading to better prices and services for consumers. On the other hand, some economists suggest that allowing more direct sales could lead to lower prices for consumers.

Extended Warranties - Are They Worth Your Time?
Extended warranties are what I like to consider them a necessary evil. I know everyone hates to deal with them, and it takes time out of your day to call in and you have to sometimes sit on hold for long periods of time, and sad to say but that is, unfortunately, all part of the gig.
The thing is, if you set yourself up for success, make sure you have as much information as possible. Extended warranties are going to ask you about the 3-C's (Concern, Cause & Correction). If you have all this info along with mileage and know if it was towed or driven in, you have a higher chance of getting the claim approved on the first call. Now granted if you have a grocery list or plan on shooting the parts cannon at the vehicle, be prepared for something to either be declined or an inspector to be sent out.
The biggest thing I could suggest is to also know what kind of coverage your customer has, don't make it a guessing game. educate yourself on the coverage the customer has and at the same time, educate the customer. This will make it easier when you offer an explanation of the coverage to the customer (which they elected) and then if something is not covered, it will be validated by what you explained to the customer.
All in all, be prepared, have as much info as possible, and best of luck.

A service record is an invoice copy of your repairs or maintenance that you get done at a dealership or an independent repair facility. A receipt is what we call the paper you receive when you check out from the auto parts store. basically the same thing but referred to differently.
If you are not dedicated to a particular repair shop or quick lube then you definitely must save your records so that way if you encounter a major repair you will be prepared when the time comes.

Why is it if a customer complains and under normal standings, the advisor respectfully tells the customer "NO", then the customer goes to the service manager and they also say "NO", that the customer then goes to the General Manager who in my personal experience almost always says "YES". WHY, WHY, WHY??? Are you wanting to build a relationship with the customer who is going to slam you on a google review and a manufacturer survey? No That is NOT something You want to do. Avoid these customers all together because believe it or not they are NOT customers. At least they are not the t ype of customers that you want to have at your shop.
