European Adventure: The Meseta and the Ballerina | The Plains in Spain
In this video we continue the adventure and pilgrimage across the entire country of Spain. We tackle the feared Plains of Spain. People often skip over the section of the pilgrimage and take a bus, train, or plane past it. Not me! I walked it, and met a ballerina along the way.
Hear the story and see the famous meseta.

Make the Amazing A-10 Warthog Jet Model
In my opinion this is one of the most unique jets in our whole arsenal.
This is a tutorial showing you how to make a plastic model jet. In this video we make the A-10 Warthog that is 1:48 scale which is a large model. And I show you all the major steps in model making including gluing the parts, sub-assemblies, painting and finishing. This is a fun project and in model making it is a skill level 2 which is an intermediate build. You will need a few basic supplies and tools to make a kit like this.
More about this project including the kit and more on my website here:

Make a Camera Obscura
This is a tutorial on how to make a peculiar little device called a Camera Obscura. That means “Dark Chamber” in latin. It is box with a lens that projects an image of the world. And it is something that goes all the way back to antiquity. Even Leonardo DaVinci and Johannes Kepler wrote about it. Some were even as large as a whole room or building that projected the image onto a wall. This was a very early precursor to the modern day camera. And you can see why. All you have to do is replace our wax paper with photographic film and you have a rudimentary camera.
Our Camera Obscura is a hand held box that projects the image onto a piece of tracing paper or wax paper and you just need a lens and a small mirror to make it. You can even use this one to make drawings of scenes.
I have a web based tutorial with more information, pics and tips on this project on my website here:

The road to Zubiri.
What a strange name for a city. After the foggy and mystical first day the name of this town is like a magical village.
What a difference a day makes! From the brutal 13 hour walk of the first day, getting over the mountains to the second day which felt like a gift.

European Adventure 17 | That first day is brutal | 483 miles to go
It's a 500 mile pilgrimage and the first day is absolutely brutal. You have to get up and over the Pyrenees mountains. I did it in thick fog for most of the day and it took me 13 hours. I arrived at a pilgrim's monastery at 9pm - exhausted but fulfilled that I had made it.

Fun video. Burlington Vermont is a beautiful town. The weather was good and the eclipse was excellent.
