An Immigrant’s Journey of Faith and Freedom to America - Part 2 with Guest Cornel Potra
Currently in America, many of our youth have never learned that our country was founded on principles set forth in the Bible. That’s because God and truth are systematically being erased from our history. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Gary Bauer concludes his critical discussion with Cornel Potra, founder of Potra Law Firm, about the alarming similarities he has witnessed between what was communist Romania and the United States of America today. Cornel details the terrible journey he made as he escaped the harshness of Romania and finally became a legal United States citizen. Due to his harrowing experience, Cornel will never take for granted the freedoms he has in this country. Cornel and Gary’s conversation challenges all of us to reevaluate our responsibilities as Christian citizens. We must always protect our God-given freedoms and liberties no matter the cost.

Compelled to Speak Out with Guest Riley Gaines
You may have heard the name Riley Gaines in headlines. She is a 12-time NCAA All-American swimmer who competed against and was tied with a biological male at an NCAA freestyle championship. Today on Family Talk, Alison Centofante talks with Riley about this unthinkable situation. In addition to the unfair competition, the female athletes were forced to share the same changing room and undress in front of this biological male. Can you imagine if that was your daughter? Join us today as Riley shares her conviction to speak up for the rights of female athletes. You won’t want to miss her powerful testimony.
About Today's Guest: Cornel Potra
Riley Gaines is a political activist and a former competitive swimmer. She is a 12-time NCAA All-American and 5-time SEC (Southeastern Conference) Champion. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky. Riley is known for speaking out for female athletes after tying with University of Pennsylvania’s Lia Thomas, a biological male swimmer on the women’s team, at the 2022 NCAA Division 1 Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships. After the competition, Riley was forced to undress before the male competitor without warning or her consent. She was subjected to discrimination by the NCAA as they wanted to focus attention on Lia. Now, Riley is one of the most powerful voices speaking out against this unthinkable injustice. She is challenging the rules of the NCAA, USA Swimming, the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and other governing bodies. She has traveled across the country speaking about women's rights in sports and has testified before the U.S. Senate, U.S. House, and countless state legislatures.

An Immigrant’s Journey of Faith and Freedom to America - Part 1 with Guest Cornel Potra
Let us not forget that America was built on the idea that our liberties come from God, not the government. It is this foundation that sets our beloved country apart from many other nations. Today on Family Talk, Gary Bauer talks with Cornel Potra, founder of Potra Law Firm, specializing in immigration law in the USA. Cornel was born and raised in Romania, which was a communist nation at the time. He recognizes first-hand what it's like to live in a country where individual freedoms and liberties are stripped away. Discover more about Cornel’s journey to becoming a legal citizen in America, and his great passion to ensure all our God-given freedoms won’t be taken away!
About Today's Guest: Cornel Potra
Cornel Potra is the founder of Potra Law Firm. He attended Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and graduated in May of 2000. Shortly after his wife’s graduation from law school in 2001, they moved to Georgia to continue their work in this field, and Cornel became a member of the Georgia Bar in 2005. He and his wife, Kristina, have five children and reside in the Atlanta area.

Overcoming Alcoholism with Guests Bob and Pauline Bartosch
Many people struggle with alcohol and other addictive substances, but very few actually receive treatment. Today on Family Talk, Bob and Pauline Bartosch, authors of "Overcomers Outreach: Bridge to Recovery," reveal to Dr. James Dobson their past dependency on alcohol and valium. Ultimately, they both found hope and healing in the Lord, and through support communities in Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon. Out of their experience, Bob and Pauline co-founded Overcomers Outreach, a Christ-centered addiction support group.
About Today's Guests: Bob and Pauline Bartosch
Bob Bartosch was studying for a career in ministry as a young man, but alcoholism nearly destroyed his life. A series of miracles led to his involvement with Alcoholics Anonymous, where he found sobriety. Bob’s wife, Pauline, secretly became a Valium-addicted codependent and found hope in a Al-Anon Family Group just weeks before Bob became sober. Once they rediscovered their “higher power,” Jesus Christ, Bob and Pauline started the ministry called Overcomers Outreach to assist those in search of recovery from addiction to alcohol, drugs, and other substances. The basis for their ministry and sobriety is the fundamental faith each person must place in Jesus Christ alone. Bob passed away in 2006, and Pauline passed away in 2019. The Bartosch’s left behind three grown sons, Bob, Mike and Steve, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The Eclipse of God - Part 1 with Dr. Erwin Lutzer
Many would not refute that our country has become unrecognizable and that our culture is unraveling before our eyes. Today on Family Talk, Gary Bauer talks with Dr. Erwin Lutzer, author and pastor emeritus of The Moody Church, about his latest book, "The Eclipse of God: Our Nation’s Disastrous Search for a More Inclusive Deity (And What We Must Do About It.)" Dr. Lutzer explains that “we need a fresh vision of who God is and not the God we just wish He was.” Isaiah 5:20 says, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.” Because you care about our nation and standing up for the truth of the Bible, you won’t want to miss this critical discussion!

Homeschooling Today - Part 1 with Guests Jay and Heidi St. John
No one knows your kids better than you do, so who better to teach them? Maybe you don’t think of yourself as a teacher and the thought of homeschooling sounds too difficult. Today on Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson talks with Jay and Heidi St. John, who homeschooled their seven kids and founded Firmly Planted Homeschool Resource Center. They share three keys to a successful schooling model: flexibility, the one-on-one tutorial model, and a vision of Christian discipleship. The results? The Dangerous Gentleman - Part 2 with Victor and Eileen Marx
According to Victor Marx, co-founder of All Things Possible Ministries, the biggest threat to America is not terrorism, it’s the lack of fathers. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson talks with Victor about his latest book, "The Dangerous Gentleman." They also discuss the trauma Victor faced as a young boy, and how growing up without a loving father figure affected his life. You’ll hear unbelievable stories of redemption, rescue and resilience that only the Lord could orchestrate. Matthew 19:26 says, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Hear more of all that the Lord has done through Victor and his wife, Eileen.
About Today's Guests: Victor and Eileen Marx
Victor Marx is a high-risk humanitarian and the co-founder of All Things Possible Ministries, a non-profit organization that works on a global scale to identify and restore victims of trauma from abuse. Victor has led missions to Iraq, Syria, North Africa and Southeast Asia – many times in non-permissive and high-threat environments. Severely abused and tortured as a child, by the time he graduated from high school, Victor was using drugs, fighting, and stealing. The discipline of military life and faith in God helped him recover from his traumatic childhood. Today, Victor dedicates himself to helping others learn how to deal with challenges and develop a resilient lifestyle. Victor and his wife, Eileen, have five children and several grandchildren.
Eileen Marx co-founded All Things Possible Ministries with her husband, Victor, in 2003. Their mission is to set captives —those affected by trauma —free emotionally, physically and spiritually. Eileen is a 2nd degree black belt, and has done high-risk mission work overseas with Victor, as well as counter-sex trafficking and counter pedophile work in the U.S. and at the Mexico border. An accomplished author, Eileen enjoys long distance shooting, blade work, Bible study and spending time with her loved ones.

Standing Up for Righteousness and Defending the Good News - Part 1 with Guest John Stemberger
According to Gary Bauer, senior vice president of public policy at the James Dobson Family Institute, “We are living in a culture that is all too often hostile to faith, family, and freedom!” Never before have we found the family unit more threatened and attacked! Today on Family Talk, Gary discusses the current state of America with John Stemberger, president of Liberty Counsel Action. Though we have faltered as a country and now risk losing it all, we can come together to fight for all that we hold dear. Isaiah 6:8 says, “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” Be encouraged as Gary and John share their vision and challenge us to never give up, and fight for our religious freedoms, the sanctity of human life and the family!
