Sweden's Saab has delivered two more F-39 Gripen fighter jets to the Brazilian Air Force (FAB).

Delivery is carried out by ship which is scheduled to arrive in Brazil on April 2.

The two aircraft with registrations FAB 4101 and FAB 4102 were boarded the Dutch-flagged Marsgracht on Wednesday (3/9) night at Norrköping Harbor, Sweden.

After arriving at Navegantes Port, Santa Catarina, Brazil, the aircraft will be towed to Navegantes Airport to carry out flight preparations to the Gripen Flight Test Center in Gavião Peixoto (SP), where FAB, Embraer, and Saab test pilots will conduct flight tests of the aircraft. to get a military certificate.

Previously, the first FAB F-39 Gripen aircraft (FAB 4100) arrived in Brazil in September 2020 and was used at Gavião Peixoto as a test unit equipped with instruments for the continuation of the test campaign since August 2019, in Sweden.

A total of 4 F-39 Gripens are expected to be delivered to the FAB in the first half of 2022.

Brazilian Air Force (FAB) Commander Air Lieutenant Brigadier Carlos de Almeida Baptista Junior has officially received the aircraft at a ceremony in Linköping, Sweden in late November 2021.
