The pink robin (Petroica rodinogaster) is a small passerine native to southeastern Australia. Its natural habitat is the cool climate forests of southeastern Australia. Like many brightly colored robins of the family Petroicidae, it is sexually dimorphic. At 13.5 cm (5.3 in) long, the robin has a small, thin, black beak and dark brown eyes and feet. The male has a distinctive white spot on the forehead and pink chest, with a gray-black top, wings and tail. Her belly is white. The female has gray-brown fur. the position of the pink robin and its Australian relatives on the passerine family tree is unclear; Petroicidae is not closely related to the European or American robin, but is a branch of the songbird group Passerida.
