My campfire talent show performance at Camp PBC (Lake Siskiyou, California) on Tuesday, July 30, 2019: "Ghost Chickens in the Sky" is a parody of the country song "Ghost Riders in the Sky".

Video by Holly Leonard.

Original Tune by Stan Jones ("Ghost Riders in the Sky", 1948).

Parody Lyrics from a traditional Boy Scout campfire song, edited by Darin McGrew.

----

A chicken farmer went to work one dark and stormy day
He leaned against the chicken coop as he rested on his way
When all at once a rotten egg just hit him in the eye
It was the sight he dreaded: Ghost Chickens in the Sky

Bok bok bok bok! Bok bok bok bok!
Ghost Chickens in the Sky

The farmer had raised chickens since he was twenty four
Workin' for The Colonel for thirty years or more
Raisin' all those chickens, and sendin' them to fry
Now they want their just revenge: Ghost Chickens in the Sky

Bok bok bok bok! Bok bok bok bok!
Ghost Chickens in the Sky

Their beaks were black and shiny, their eyes were burnin’ red
They had no skin nor feathers, these chickens all were dead
They pounced upon the farmer, they killed him with a claw
They fried him extra crispy and served him with cole slaw

Bok bok bok bok! Bok bok bok bok!
Ghost Chickens in the Sky

Bok bok bok bok! Bok bok bok bok!
Ghost Chickens in the Sky
