20211023 Politician to Lobbyist - The Daily Summation

I would hope you agree with me (and with Drew Berquist, who brought these two issues on his show).

Yes, I DO believe we need to implement term limits on national legislative office.

I also would argue for a move back to "single issue" bills (bills that aren't over a thousand pages, and cover a SINGLE ISSUE).

What I'll mildly disagree with Mr Berquist on, is the idea that people leaving U. S. Congress, shouldn't have certain limitations on what they can do.

Lobbying for money is NOT something I believe such folks should be able to do.

Writing books? Fine!

Speaking for exorbitant amounts? Yes, I guess so.

Going to work for someone they stumped for when in office? NOT SO MUCH.

Also, as I say, lobbying for folks in exchange for huge amounts of money or power.

I felt the need to make this statement in today's edition of The Daily Summation from Kurt's Religion and Politics, because I think some folks out there aren't saying it strongly enough.

When I'm able to complete the companion article on the Kurt's Religion and Politics blog, I'll post a link to it here.
