Central Oregon - Choosing the WRONG Way to Cross

My goal of these wilderness trail videos is to 1) show reverence for the beauty of the land, and 2) give YOU actionable trail information that can assist you in planning your own hike here.

This was a day-hike in Central Oregon, Three Sisters Wilderness, starting at Soda Creek Trailhead and going to the spectacular Green Lakes area (what I have dubbed the "Alpine Campus") and ultimately up to Golden Lake as the turnaround spot for this 17.1 mile day-hike. Weather was a low in the low 30's, high in the low 60's degrees, blue sky day and very windy. This was hiked on 9/2/2021, trail was completely clear of snow, and there were NO Mosquitoes! On Alltrails this hike is called "Green Lakes", the one starting at "Soda Creek". As far as road conditions, it's all highway until a turnoff parking lot area right off the highway that is in great condition, absolutely any car can make this easily, in my opinion the road most definitely DOES NOT require 4-Wheel Drive. As far as permits, the Soda Creek Trailhead DOES require a Recreation.gov permit.
