Eleven Mile Canyon - Fishing in the SNOW! - McFly Angler Episode 43

This had to be one of the prettiest places I have been to in a long time, if not ever. What a beautiful little canyon, and so close to a major metropolis city. Only an hour from Colorado Springs, and about 1.5 hours from Denver. This Eleven Mile Canyon is really a great fishery, and a beautiful place to camp and fish.

Even though I didnt actually net any fish, I did hook 4 during very foul weather. I am not sure why I lost all those fish mid fight, maybe I did something wrong, I am not sure. All I know is that there were fish everywhere, but they were very picky. I probably was using the wrong flies, or wrong presentation. Maybe both! But, next time I go, I will make sure and get more info about the river, and hopefully get some fish in the net.

I said that I would list the sling bag I was using, so here it is. Its a Fishpond Summit and I got the Gravel color. Its a small-ish sling, but really holds a fair amount of stuff. In fact, I am able to put all my camera gear in it. I do like it, but cannot figure out for the life of me the best way to keep my net with me. Here is a link to this sling on Amazon, where you can see many pictures and such. http://amzn.to/2FlGCHX

Also, I finally have my new fly boxes and they are for sale on eBay. I really like them, and I think you will also. They range from $11.99-16.99. Check them out here along with some flies I am selling... https://www.ebay.com/usr/escapingdailygrind

I ended up fishing my 10' 3wt custom fly rod the entire time, and paired it with a Piscifun Sword 2 - http://amzn.to/2GCfhkb

I also was using a 4wt double taper fly line by Rio - http://amzn.to/2HEZmTx

Also, for those who dont know, the indicator yarn system I was talking about was the "New Zealand Indicator System" which is awesome for sensitivity, and soft taking trout. However you do need floatant with it, or it won't work properly. So here is a link to the system - http://amzn.to/2Fq1xdc
Also a link to the floatant I use with it - http://amzn.to/2HGdfkw

And now a list of flies I used...
