The Phrygian mode is the mother of all flamenco scales.

...Every flamenco guitarist needs to be intimately familiar with it.

A good way to get the Phrygian mode engrained in your head, hands, and your DNA, is to play it up and down the neck by using a barre chord (cejilla).

When starting this exercise, you will be challenged for sure because it is quite a workout for the left hand, but you can do it!

...So, when you feel the burn too intensely, just take a 5-10 second break, and return your fretting fingers back to the neck.
