In this tutorial, I will show you exactly how to play the basic form of Guajiras for the flamenco guitar. The chords used in this tutorial are A major and E7.

I make it a point in this tutorial to let you know that the standard fretting position for the A chord is no longer an option for you as a flamenco guitarist. From here on out, if you haven’t already made the switch, you will need to use your 1 finger to barre the D and G strings on the 2nd fret while using your 2 finger to hold down he B sting at the 2nd fret.

This progressives study uses the following right hand techniques: arpegio and pulgar. The fretting fingers will be stretched ever-so-slightly as you reach with your 4 finger on the C# on the A string. The fretting fingers will be using the following techniques: pull-offs and hammer-ons (ligagdo). Enjoy!
