Burn Bowl

I made this video the same day I made the bowl carving video. It was a long HOT day. But I learned a lot from my limited engagement with these two bowl making methods. I would like to see if I split the wood, then burned the exposed grain if it would happen faster and easier. Those experiments will be shown on IG when I get to have fun on a long weekend!

This video shows the process on how to create concavities and control the burn while using fire to make a bowl shape in a hunk of wood. It is suggested to use a softer piece of wood while doing these projects because it is much faster. The bowl is not done, however for all intent and purpose the goal of this video is to show the process.

I believe I will keep this as my bushcraft tiki torch and make some modifications to slow down the burning of the fuel. It throws out a lot of light and quite a bit of heat.
