Hello everyone. In this morning's Bible study we take a look at how the LORD God overcomes the world, the flesh, and the Devil.

First, the Lord deals with sin and the sinner through regeneration. The scriptures makes it absolutely clear that salvation is performed solely by an act of God.

Salvation is a miracle just like the virgin birth of Jesus. Every believer is conceived by the Holy Spirit of God. The scriptures reveals this truth over and over again through direct teaching of the gospel and through many types and shadows.

I give several illustrations to give you a visual aid then provide the supporting scripture passages to show you what the Holy Spirit said through the prophets and apostles.

The new birth, the regeneration, the death of the sinner and resurrection of the child of God always come first. There is no newest of life with a death. In the scriptures the Lord calls it circumcision and baptism. Circumcision for Israel, God's wife and baptism for the church, Christ's bride.

Col. 2:11-13
In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision MADE WITHOUT HANDS (no human assistance ever), by putting off (death of) the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision (cross) of Christ, buried with Him in baptism (this is not water), in which you also were raised (regeneration resurrection) with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has MADE ALIVE together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,

There is only one baptism that brings salvation and it is not perform by any human. It is conducted by the Holy Spirit.

Eph. 4:4-6
There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, ONE BAPTISM; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

1 Cor. 12:13
For BY ONE SPIRIT WE WER ALL BAPTIZED INTO ONE BODY—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.

Then the LORD God minister the gospel to all others including our main enemies, the world - the flesh - the Devil.

We are commanded not to be conformed to this world, not to love the world, not to walk in the flesh and to resist the Devil.

1 John 2:15-17
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

Gal. 5:16-17
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.

James 4:7
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Finally, the Lord has placed within the scriptures types and shadows for each of our enemies. He uses Ninevah with Nimrod as the world; Egypt with Pharaoh as the flesh; and Assyria with the AntiChrist as the Devil. With each of these types and shadows the LORD God reveals His sovereignty over all His creation and His willingness to provide salvation from all peoples, nation, tribes, and tongues.

Nimrod represented the world as it turn from the knowledge of God to suppressing the truth then turning to service and worship of the creatures in lieu of the Creator. The gospel was preached through Noah and his children nevertheless within three generations the entire world rejected creation, conscience, and the gospel. God turned them over.

Pharaoh representing the flesh, long ago abandoned both creation and seared the conscience with a hot iron. Finally, he rejected the message of the gospel from God through Moses. God turn the Egyptians over to serve false gods who were no gods.

Next was the arrogance of the Assyrian kings who spoke pompous words against the Most High God. It began with Sennacherib king of Assyria who wrote a letter in total defiance against the Lord of hosts.

2 Kings 18:22, 33-35
But if you say to me, ‘We trust in the LORD our God,’ is it not He whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah has taken away, and said to Judah and Jerusalem, ‘You shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem’?“‘...Has any of the gods of the nations at all delivered its land from the hand of the king of Assyria? Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim and Hena and Ivah? Indeed, have they delivered Samaria from my hand? Who among all the gods of the lands have delivered their countries from my hand, that the LORD should deliver Jerusalem from my hand?’”

Then came Antiochus during the intra-testament time between Malichi the last writing prophet and the birth of John the baptist. It was Antiochus who committed the abomination of desolation in the Temple of the Most High God. In the future, there will be the last Assyrian in the person of the Beast who is the AntiChrist. Listen to what the scriptures say about this Satan possessed man.

Daniel 7:8
I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were plucked out by the roots. And there, in this horn, were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words.

Rev. 13:3-7
And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”
And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven.

Oh friend, the study of God's word is so wonderful and awesome!

Today's study is 1 hour and 11 minutes in duration. I have broken it into four segments. This is segment 2 of 4 titled How is the AntiChrist Satan's son? Part 2
