WATCH: Senator Kennedy Explains to CNN Exactly Why Pro-Hamas Mahmoud Khalil Can Be Deported

Senator John Kennedy appeared on CNN to break down the legal grounds for deporting pro-Hamas activist Mahmoud Khalil.

According to Kennedy, U.S. immigration law provides clear pathways for removing non-citizens who engage in or support terrorist organizations. He emphasized that Hamas is officially designated as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) by the U.S. government, and anyone who provides material support, advocates for, or associates with such groups can face deportation.

Kennedy also pointed out that immigration law allows the U.S. to deny entry or revoke visas for individuals linked to terrorism or extremist activities. He argued that Khalil’s actions meet the threshold required for legal removal from the country.

I think they won’t have any problem proving that Mahmoud Khalil was supporting Hamas and if I were a betting man, he’s wishing he scrubbed his social media accounts and whatever else before he was arrested.

Kennedy also took the opportunity to highlight a broader issue, questioning government spending priorities. "What’s wrong with asking how the government spends our money?" he asked, suggesting that taxpayers deserve transparency, especially when it comes to immigration enforcement and national security.
