MZTV 1660: Lying Jews Take Christ’s Age Revelation Seriously; Tories Laugh in His Face

I’ll say one thing concerning the lying gaggle of Jews encountered by our Lord in John 8:38-59. At least they had the decency to believe our Lord was serious concerning the years of His existence. On that vital topic, our Lord said, “Before Abraham came into being, I am.” The Jews knew exactly what He was saying (well, you would have to be kinda dense to not understand it), to the point that they picked up stones to murder Him. What would the Tories have done in that position? They would have laughed in Jesus’ face. Really. Why pick up stones to murder someone for saying He’s older than Abraham when, clearly, He’s joking?

And so this is the difference between the lying, first-century Jews and the modern-day Tories: the lying, first-century Jews had the decency to take Christ seriously. The Tories lack this decency. That’s the difference between them. Then what is the similarity? Both the lying, first-century Jews and the Tories are certain that the first-century Christ is not even 50 years old. Neither of them believe He could possibly have pre-dated Abraham.

Let’s review. Similarity: neither the lying, first-century Jews nor the modern-day Tories believe Christ. Difference: the lying, first-century Jews take our Lord at His Word; the Tories laugh in His face.
