MZTV 1655: They Bounce Their Eyes From Grace, Salvation, and Love

I have written and spoken before of the Christian phenomenon of considering feminine beauty to be evil and the cause of every sin, and the subsequent challenge to all men who would be godly to bounce their eyes from the loveliest of God’s creatures.

It is only today that I see this bizarre practice as symptomatic of a greater insanity, which is the Christian determination to bounce its eyes from God Himself: from His love, His grace, and His salvation.

What could make people do so unnatural a thing as resist beauty? 1) fear; fear that an enjoyment of the loveliest things of God is a trap precipitating one’s ultimate moral downfall. 2) distrust; distrust that the Creator of the Beautiful could possibly be as good as advertised, or that He would protect His creatures from their basest inclinations.

Who has inspired these lies? The father of lies himself: Satan.
