Rep. Massie: ‘There Are People that Can Do This Job Much Better than Mike Johnson’

LOESCH: “So then that leads into, well, then who would you support as speaker and why wouldn’t you run for it? Because we all want you.”

MASSIE: “Ooh, OK, there are some things to unpack. First of all, I have — I have a person in mind, but I’m not going to say that name.”

LOESCH: “Can you give us a hint for Christmas? It is Christmas coming up. Just a gift hint. Just a little, little hint. We’ll keep it here. Cone of silence.”

MASSIE: “I know in my family, we always have one present you could unwrap on Christmas Eve.”

LOESCH: “Can that be ours?”

MASSIE: “No, this is not that present. (laughs)”

LOESCH: “I tried, everybody. I tried.”

MASSIE: “But listen, the reason I’m doing that is to protect that person.”

LOESCH: “OK, that makes sense. That makes sense. That makes sense.”

MASSIE: “I don’t [inaudible] their chances. So, you know, I do have a person in mind. There are people that can do this job much better than Mike Johnson can do it.”
