presents episode 2354 | HOLLY at LifeandDIY

Eating fruit following a late high fat and protein meal slows
down digestion, allowing slower release of glucose into blood;
avoiding low glucose crashes during sleep

Other factors that may affect waking up at night
-gluconeogenesis
-low body fat or caloric deficit
-cortisol issues
-electrolyte imbalances
-depleted glucagon stores

Recommendation: drink milk during final meal--has some
sugar and may help regulate blood sugar over night...
-if that is not sufficient, try adding a bit of honey
Because my body was so used to waking up at 3am, it took
a long while to sleep through that period
-now I sleep from 9 to 5
What has helped me most lately is
a light therapy device

This device, $200, purchased two years ago for son, called
Luminette glasses...
-wear first thing in morning for 20 minutes
-has settings for various
light wavelengths
-seems to help reset
morning circadian
rhythm
Bright light alone did not
fix sleep issues

Studied for safety in Belgium
-if have eye issues, check with doctor first
