Holly, at LifeandDIY channel: I began carnivore eating about
a year and a half ago...after one month I began to wake up
regularly between midnight and 3am
-very disruptive, felt very tired
-the sleep itself was not effective
-being tired all the time, began
going to sleep earlier--at 6pm
Quit coffee, but that is not what
fixed the problem

Quitting coffee brought much more calm and balance
-avoiding the anxiety effects of coffee
-only effect on sleep was it made her remember dreams
and have much more REM sleep
-was only addiction and feels great being off of it

For the past year have done many things to improve sleep
-EEG headband
-CGM
-AI to research personal data
Met with trusted doctor: suggested: low blood glucose
-other suggestion was hormones
Lots of people eating keto/carnivore

Personal data showed that often, when trouble sleeping,
she had hypoglycemia...

First fix: noticed that when eating a particular food, would
sleep past 3am...
-eat small to medium meal, 2 too 4 hours before bed
-after meal, add in some type of fruit
-in ketosis all day but need small amount of carb at night
Eat dish of frozen peaches
-small amount of fiber helps slow
the GI spike & reduce hunger
-has small and slow growing rise
in blood glucose
-fat in meal also slows digestion

Best to also include fatty or fibrous portion of this late snack
-coconut butter with coconut milk mixed in
-use as dip for fruit
-may want to add a touch of honey
[some people find honey helps with sleep;
others: banana]
