Here's a baking tip for you today! 😊

When using whole grain flours, if your dough feels wet, it's very important to wait on adding more flour until after you've let the dough rest for 5 to 15 minutes. This additional time allows your flour time to absorb the liquid already present (whole grain flours need time).

Then you can assess. What usually happens is... if it felt wet before, it will now feel less wet. If you don't allow this time, you could end up adding more flour when you don't need to, and then you end up with a too dry dough... yuck... instead of soft and pliable.

This is just one of the many tips I've followed over the years to get great results in our baking with both whole grain and ancient grains (like spelt).

Sometimes the littlest tips can make the biggest differences! 🙌

I have a lot more tips for you in Eat God's Way.
