Domenech Jokes America ‘Lost Expertise’ in Sex Trafficking When Gaetz Dropped out of AG Nomination

GOWDY: “All right, Ben, Matt Gaetz claims he was a victim of deep state. Senators say he was just a victim of himself. Why was he nominated? Why not nominate Pam Bondi in the first place?”
DOMENECH: “You know, it is a mystery to me, Trey, about why they did not do this in the first place, because Pam Bondi is a slam dunk. It’s just an easy confirmable situation. But we have really lost something here, because, Trey, I think you and I both know that sex trafficking is a major problem when it comes to America in the past several years, and we have lost a lot of expertise on that issues by getting Matt Gaetz out of this role. So let me just say, I do think that in this instance, we have someone who was put forward, perhaps, with the anticipation that something like this would happen , that they might get dismissed. And, you know, I don’t want to 4-D chess this, but I do think that, you know, when it comes to Donald Trump’s maneuvers, the people that he has named for this cabinet, you know, Matt Gaetz certainly ate up a lot of oxygen, a lot of attention, got a lot of electricity headed his way as a lightning rod, he was the Eiffel Tower. And so for the first week there, you know, perhaps he helped some of these other nominees in a way that might benefit them down the road.”
