presents episode 2296 | DR GARY FETTKE

By the time a patient has so much disease that they are
losing a limb or toe, the same Microvascular disease is
affecting everything else: most also have
-brain fog [T3D]
-kidney disease
-heart disease
Diabetes is a silent killer
You Are Allergic to Carbs, just as some are
allergic to peanuts--but it is slower, silent

Problem: doctor says to patient, your blood sugar is within
range--not diagnosed with T2D until A1c >6.5
but, if 6.49??
But, A1c >5.8 associated with heart disease, stroke
My patients, who were high A1c, coming for surgery,
I advocated for them to get eggs, cheese
& high fat yogurt
I could not get this done!
Only way it worked: write it on prescription!
At that point, eating this way, leg ulcers
would start to HEAL

A group of patients adopted low carb at home...
-at home: no T2D
-in hospital: T2D returned
We can get control of T2D within 6 hours
CGM shows it is possible within 24 hours
-individualized health care
cost? $100
everyone with T2D ought to have CGM +
proper nutrition advice, then go home
-experiment to see what foods cause
glucose to spike
