Here’s My 2 Cents: "Making America Healthy Again"

Robert F. Kennedy is receiving a lot of pushback for his ideas on health and reform. As secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, his ideas would radically change the US healthcare system. In this video, I’m going to share some of the changes I would make to address the current healthcare crisis and improve America’s health.
0:00 Introduction: RFK healthcare policy
1:22 Institutional foods
2:35 Subsidized foods
3:54 Vote for me!
4:25 GRAS
5:00 Food fortification
5:35 Tax money and drugs
6:55 End the rounding rule
7:47 Sun phobia
RFK has the following goals for healthcare reform in America:
1. Clean up the corruption
2. Get back to science-based evidence
3. End chronic disease
He will be actively working against big food companies, big chemical companies, and big pharma, so naturally, he’s getting a lot of pushback. The U. S. spends over 4.1 trillion dollars each year on healthcare, yet we’re at the bottom as far as health. Why?
Here's what I think can improve America’s health!
1. Change the institutional foods
Prepackaged foods are given to people in nursing homes, prisons, schools, hospitals, and other public institutions. These institutional foods are very low-quality, highly processed foods. The health of the people in these institutions would quickly improve by simply removing the refined sugars, starches, and oils from their diets.
2. Address the subsidized foods
Subsidized foods are paid for by taxpayers. Corn, soy, wheat, sugar, and rice are the most highly subsidized foods. Changing the types of foods that are subsidized and investing in small farmers can significantly improve this problem.
3. Changing GRAS
“Generally recognized as safe” is a term used by the FDA for products that have been safety tested by their own manufacturers. To avoid conflict of interest, these tests should be conducted by third-party independent companies.
4. Change food fortification
Synthetic folic acid and iron fortification of food can cause serious problems for many people.
5. Disallow tax dollars from being used for drugs
Every year, 40 billion dollars of taxpayer money is used to pay for medical research to develop new drugs.
6. The rounding rule
If a product contains less than .5 grams of an ingredient, it can be rounded down to 0. This is misleading and should be eliminated. People need to be more aware of what's really in their food. Companies also need to be forced to raise the quality of the ingredients in their products.
7. End sun phobia
Sun phobia paired with low RDAs for vitamin D is contributing to massive vitamin D deficiency in the population, putting people at risk for disease.

STOP Doing THIS for Low Back Pain

Dr. Eric Berg

When Brendan Backstrom was faced with low back pain at an early age, he refused to accept that chronic pain would plague his daily life. In this interview, find out about Brendan’s program that has worked for so many people to effectively strengthen their lower back and eliminate lower back pain.

5:59 How to strengthen the lower back

17:06 Brendan’s low back pain
19:47 Brendan Backstrom’s lower back program
The typical prognosis for low back pain is that you can’t ever completely resolve it. If you have low back pain from injury, you just have to learn to cope with it and accept it.
After injuring his lower back at 21, Brendan did not want to accept that lower back pain was something he’d just have to deal with. The culture surrounding the lower back says that it needs to be protected, not built or rebuilt. Brendan quickly learned that no technique or lifestyle is safe enough to protect the lower back from injury or re-injury.
The standard approach is that the core protects the lower back. Conservative treatment for a spinal injury focuses on everything in the core except for the lower back. With this approach, many people become more sensitive, vulnerable, and disempowered after a lower back injury.
Brendan developed a program to help people slowly and safely develop a strong back. He stresses the importance of rebuilding slowly and viewing recovery as a dial rather than a light switch.
Brendan teaches people to get reacquainted with their lower back. “You can build your own back brace,” Brendan says. Brendan’s technique not only strengthens the muscles of the lower back but also increases circulation to the spine, stretches the fascia, and decreases friction around the nerves.
Brendan explains that sciatica can be tricky to resolve but not impossible. He focuses on slowly strengthening muscles along the sciatic nerve. One of the best features of Brendan’s program is that he attempts to avoid pain.
Three years ago, Brendan experienced chronic SI joint pain in his lower back that affected his everyday life. His problem became so severe that it affected his whole body. Brendan continues to do traditional lifts such as squats but never neglects the lower back.
Brendan’s program isn’t something you’ll complete quickly. His plan takes around 1 to 2 years and can help you remodel the deepest part of your body to overcome lower back pain. His program operates on a “pay what you can” model to make it affordable for everyone.

14 Bad Habits That Can Ruin Your Heart

Dr. Eric Berg
Could your daily habits be hurting your heart? Consuming so-called heart-healthy cereals and avoiding the sun are two bad habits that can harm heart health. Discover more unhealthy habits that could lead to a heart problem and protect your heart with these simple health tips!
DATA:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2851242/
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16095599/
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2564129/
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32899880/
0:00 Introduction: Heart disease prevention
0:05 14 bad habits that can ruin your heart
9:35 Health tips to help prevent heart problems
Today, I’m going to cover the top unhealthy habits that can ruin heart health.
1. Believing everything you read on labels
Food labels can be misleading. Even foods marketed as essential to a heart-healthy diet may have damaging health effects.
2. Staying out of the sun
Avoiding the sun can lower your vitamin D levels. Vitamin D is one of the most important vitamins for supporting a healthy body, including cardiovascular health.
3. Excessive sitting
A fascinating study shows a sedentary lifestyle may increase the risk of heart disease and stroke.
4. Overusing medication
Consider working with a doctor who is open to natural alternatives for various conditions.
5. Snacking
Snacking before bed ruins your ability to burn fat while you sleep. Fat burning occurs mainly at night!
6. Drinking too much water
Drinking too much water while on a low-salt diet can dilute an important electrolyte: sodium.
7. Ignoring dental care
Certain studies have found dental bacteria in arterial plaque. Tooth infections can also lead to health issues.
8. Mouth breathing
Nose breathing may help you sleep better at night—good sleep is vital for heart health.
9. Exposure to microplastics
Microplastics are everywhere and have become a big issue. It has been found that the average person has microplastics in their blood.
10. Feeling out of breath when exercising
Feeling out of breath very quickly when exercising could be a sign of a heart issue you should not ignore.
11. Jet lag
Jet lag dramatically affects sleep cycles and can lead to fluid retention. If you fly frequently, taking niacin may help, and vitamin D3 may also be beneficial for jet lag.
12. Excessive cardio without rest
Sustained pulse rate exercise is hard on the heart and body.
13. Secondhand smoke exposure
Secondhand smoke can increase the risk of heart attack by 25-30%.
14. Consuming refined foods
Magnesium is one of the most important nutrients for the heart. But refined foods deplete magnesium.
Along with avoiding these unhealthy habits, try incorporating cold immersion therapy, managing stress, and improving your sleep to promote a healthy heart and reduce your risk of a heart problem. You can also discover more about truly heart-healthy foods in my other videos.

The #1 Superfood in the World

Dr. Eric Berg
Is red meat unhealthy? You’ve probably been taught that red meat causes cancer and other health conditions like type 2 diabetes and heart disease, but did you know that red meat is the #1 superfood? Discover the amazing health benefits of red meat in this video!
0:00 Introduction: The #1 superfood is red meat!
0:10 Is red meat healthy?
0:27 Green powder vs. red meat
1:37 Glucagon and red meat nutrition
2:20 Does red meat cause cancer?
2:37 The importance of protein
3:41 More red meat nutrients
5:17 Red meat truth

Today, I’m going to tell you about the #1 superfood, red meat! Some people think green powder is the best superfood, but while it's very beneficial, it’s missing one important ingredient—protein. Green powder has vitamin C, K1, beta-carotene, magnesium, potassium, and phytonutrients but no protein. To optimize your health, you might want to start consuming grass-fed red meat along with your green powder.
Red meat is an excellent source of B vitamins, fat-soluble vitamins, iron, selenium, zinc, and DHA. Grass-fed red meat also contains phytonutrients. Red meat increases the antioxidant glutathione and is a potent source of carnosine, an antioxidant that helps prevent glycation.
Protein consumption triggers the hormone glucagon, which stabilizes your blood sugar and helps counter the effects of insulin. Grass-fed red meat protein is the best source of protein!
A large portion of your body is made of protein. Muscle, collagen, ligaments, tendons, fascia, cell membranes, skin, and bones are all composed of protein. The 74,000 enzymes in your body are proteins, along with your neurotransmitters and hormones. Your blood contains a significant amount of protein, and it's also essential for immune cells.
Red meat contains taurine, an amino acid needed to help prevent high blood pressure, and leucine, an amino acid that triggers the synthesis of muscle.
Your body can make glucose from protein when necessary. Gluconeogenesis is the production of new glucose, which occurs mainly in the liver.
The protein leverage hypothesis states that animals, humans, and insects will continue to eat until they satisfy their protein requirement. This is why you will overeat if you consume junk food—it has no protein! If you have low blood sugar, you should consume protein, not candy!
Red meat contains myoglobin, a type of protein that helps carry oxygen. Red meat contains more myoglobin and iron than white meat. Cows, sheep, and goats have a unique ability to concentrate the nutrients from the grass into their meat.

7 Foods You Should Be Eating After You Reach the Age of 50

Dr. Eric Berg
Check out these expert diet tips for people over 50. In this video, we’ll discuss the foods that boost health after 50 and support healthy aging. Find out about the 7 foods to eat after 50!
0:00 Introduction: 7 foods to eat after 50

0:35 NAD for anti-aging

Today, I’m going to tell you about some important foods and nutrients that should be part of a healthy diet for people over 50.
Dr. David Sinclair, an expert on longevity, has researched longevity genes called sirtuins. NAD can increase sirtuins!
NAD is derived from niacin. It works inside your mitochondria, converting food to energy. As we age, our NAD decreases. Many people take supplements and get injections to boost NAD.
Dr. Abram Hoffer wrote a book about the diseases caused by too little niacin and how many diseases can be cured with mega doses. He’s one of the doctors who started the Orthomolecular Medicine Group, which used high doses of nutrients to create therapeutic dosages.
The following foods can increase NAD and should be part of a healthy diet for people over 50:
1. Beef liver
2. Grass-fed red meat
3. Probiotic-rich foods—raw sauerkraut, yogurt
4. Parsley (celery or chamomile tea can also work)
5. Curcumin—turmeric
6. Quercetin—onions
7. Omega-3 fatty acids—wild-caught fatty fish, cod liver
Sulforaphane, found in cruciferous vegetables, is also beneficial for healthy aging. Broccoli sprouts and radish sprouts are great to add to salads! Anthocyanins, found in blue and purple foods like blueberries, blackberries, and purple cabbage, are also good for anti-aging.

7 Warning Signs of Parasites and How to Fight Back

Dr. Eric Berg
You probably already have parasites, but they’re not bothering you! In this video, learn about the common symptoms of parasites and how to strengthen your immune system to eliminate parasitic infections and keep parasites in check.
0:00 Introduction: Do I have parasites?
1:07 Parasites in the body
1:52 Understanding parasitic infection
3:57 Causes of parasites
4:42 How to get rid of parasites
5:32 Natural remedies for parasites
Video on TUDCA:
Today, we’re going to talk about parasites in the body. Here are some of the common symptoms of parasites:
1. Fatigue
2. Rash
3. Unexpected weight loss
4. Bloating
5. Teeth grinding
6. Itching
7. Anxiety
Parasites and pathogens force us to become stronger. They strengthen our immune systems to protect us from future parasitic infections. While this can be beneficial, parasites are constantly evolving and competing for resources in the body.
In an attempt to evade your immune system, parasites downgrade your ability to absorb vitamin D. Vitamin D supports the T cells, which control and coordinate the immune system.
Parasites even try to change the behavior of the host. For example, toxoplasma gondii causes a mouse to become more fearless, making it more likely to be eaten by a cat.
Parasites can also lie dormant for years and wait until you’re older, stressed, or have a weakened immune system to emerge, so they have a better chance at survival.
Some microorganisms can become parasitic if the environment changes in your body. E. coli is friendly in the large intestine but parasitic in the small intestine. Most ulcers come from H. pylori. This bacteria releases a substance that alkalizes the stomach because it can't survive in an acidic environment.
Parasites can come from many places, including inhalation and pets. Antibiotics can greatly increase your risk of parasitic infection. Refined sugar and junk foods can feed parasites.
TUDCA is a bile salt that supports the flow of bile through the bile ducts. Try taking TUDCA for two days before attempting a natural cleanse for parasites.
Here are some of the best natural remedies for parasites to help purge and kill parasites directly and indirectly:
•Wormwood extract
•Clove
•Black walnut extract
•Garlic
•Oregano oil
•Pumpkin seeds
•Fermented vegetables
•Kefir
To support the immune system during a parasitic infection, you may need at least 20,000 IU of vitamin D daily. Take it with magnesium and zinc.

Did you know you could have normal blood vitamin D levels but still have a vitamin D deficiency?
Vitamin D resistance interferes with vitamin D levels and vitamin D absorption. Genetic problems, Lyme disease, and certain infections downgrade the vitamin D receptor. A deficiency in zinc, magnesium, or vitamin K2 will inhibit vitamin D function in the body. High cortisol, darker skin, diabetes, obesity, and other health conditions will also affect vitamin D absorption.
The RDA for vitamin D is only 600 IU when you actually need 8,895 IU every day! Research has shown that low vitamin D levels increase your risk for viral infections. People with tumors and cancer have been found to have low vitamin D.
New research has shown the benefits of vitamin D for autoimmune conditions. Dr. Coimbra from Brazil has used high vitamin D levels to treat patients with autoimmune conditions, and the results have been amazing. Another doctor using high doses of vitamin D3 has over 900 video testimonials of improvement in people with autoimmune diseases.
One eye doctor in Germany wrote a book about using high doses of vitamin D3 for glaucoma and other eye-related problems. “The Pharmacological Basis of Therapeutics 4th Edition” addressed vitamin D resistance and vitamin D dosage of 50,000 IU to up to 500,000 IU!
Vitamin D allows you to absorb more calcium, so when you take high doses of vitamin D, make sure you’re not consuming calcium supplements. Take vitamin D with magnesium because it helps regulate calcium.

The Benefit of Apple Cider Vinegar That NO ONE KNOWS

Dr. Eric Berg
I’ve done many videos on the amazing health benefits of apple cider vinegar, but I’ve never mentioned this. Many people use apple cider vinegar for immunity, digestion, and weight loss, but there’s more! Discover some fascinating ACV benefits you’ve probably never heard of.
0:00 Introduction: Apple cider vinegar benefits
0:29 Understanding microbes
1:58 Apple cider vinegar for gut microbes
3:35 The benefits of microbes
5:16 What wakes the bad bacteria?
6:40 How to use apple cider vinegar
Recommended Apple Cider Vinegar: https://www.fairchildsvinegar.com/
Most people are familiar with the more popular benefits of apple cider vinegar, including the following:
•Supports digestion
•Decreases bloating
•Improves indigestion and acid reflux
•Supports healthy blood sugar levels
•Helps make insulin more sensitive
•Decreases a fatty liver
•Decreases inflammation
Both good bacteria and bad bacteria can go into a dormant state. Microbes in a dormant state are protected from many environmental stresses and chemicals, especially antibiotics. Dormant microbes can survive for decades or even thousands of years!
A change in environment, like a change in pH, can wake good bacteria or cause them to go dormant. Most good bacteria thrive in an acidic environment. Apple cider vinegar acidifies the environment for good microbes. Things like kombucha, pickle juice, sauerkraut, and kimchi have similar effects.
Certain microbes create butyrate, which helps with insulin resistance. These microbes thrive in an acidic environment.
We have a synergistic relationship with the microbes in our gut. We provide a home, and they provide immune protection, help with digestion, vitamin production, and more. By making their environment more acidic, you help activate them.
H. pylori releases ammonia, which alkalizes the stomach acid. This allows it to do its damage, causing ulcers in the stomach and small intestine. C. diff, E. coli, and salmonella go into a state of dormancy when the pH drops below 6.
When your immune system is suppressed, bad bacteria can come out of dormancy. Antibiotics, stress, Prednisone, and vitamin D deficiency can all suppress the immune system and activate pathogenic microbes.
Adequate vitamin D in amounts of at least 10,000 IU daily may help keep pathogenic microbes in remission. Try drinking 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water every evening with a straw to support your beneficial microbes. Fairchild’s Apple Cider Vinegar is an excellent option.

Why Your Vitamins Are Not Working

Dr. Eric Berg
Does it seem like your vitamins aren't working? In this video, I’ll tell you how to increase vitamin absorption in the body. Find out how to take vitamins correctly to increase vitamin effectiveness.
0:00 Introduction: Do I need to take vitamins?
0:36 Low stomach acid and vitamin absorption
1:35 The best vitamins for absorption
2:43 Fillers in vitamins and supplements
3:16 Vitamin effectiveness and diet
4:00 Multivitamins
4:29 Vitamin D3
5:36 Vitamins and chronic illness
6:34 Increasing dose to increase vitamin effectiveness
Bruce Hollis Interview Video: ▶️ https://youtu.be/QAQ7r6jLEww
You may be wondering, do I need to take vitamins? Your body needs around 180 nutrients, and it’s often difficult to satisfy these requirements, especially for vitamin D, magnesium, zinc, and vitamin B3. You can not always identify nutrient deficiencies in the blood.
Low stomach acid interferes with vitamin and mineral absorption. If you have low stomach acid, you might also experience problems breaking down food with vitamin B12. Indigestion, heartburn, and SIBO are common symptoms of low stomach acid.
Synthetic vitamins aren't the same as natural ones. Do not take synthetic vitamin B12 or B9! Some nutrients need other nutrients to function properly, so taking them in isolated forms rather than a complex can cause problems.
Many vitamins contain fillers like maltodextrin that compete for nutrients such as vitamin C. Vitamin B1 is essential for breaking down sugar and carbs, so when you consume maltodextrin, it’s easy to become deficient.
Poor diet could be a reason why vitamins aren’t working for you. If you’re diabetic, prediabetic, or have insulin resistance, vitamin absorption will be greatly inhibited. Fix this by going on a low-carb diet.
Poor-quality supplements often contain calcium carbonate, which is limestone! Multivitamins with calcium and magnesium are poorly absorbed because these two minerals compete for absorption.
Vitamin effectiveness is greatly influenced by dosage. The RDA for vitamin D3 is only 600 IU, but you need around 10,000 IU daily. If you have a chronic illness, you need therapeutic doses of vitamins, not small amounts.
Always pay attention to the milligram dosage when choosing a supplement! Taking too little of a supplement significantly reduces vitamin absorption and effectiveness.
