typical day: skip breakfast for fasting benefits
-exercise in morning [biked to work until had accident]
First Meal: about 1:00pm high protein
-most dangerous to us: seed oils, therefore, almost
Eliminates eating anything cooked outside
-virtually every restaurant uses seed oils
-at work [hospital] eat beef, chicken, fish
-Nothing Deep Fried [seed oils]
7:00pm at home cook beef, lamb, chicken
-may have some carbs...

Have vegetarian friend who has improved A1c from
9.3 to 5.3 by carefully selecting foods: cauliflower, rice,
cabbage
-I refer vegetarian patients to him
If doing intense exercise, 3-4 hour bike ride, will eat
100-150g carbs
Seems to help my performance, but
athletic colleagues, stay low carb and get
good performance at high heart rates,
at 85-90% heart rate, predominantly
fat burning

I am perhaps not in that category...
-have not done formal research on VO2max or respiratory
exchange ratio
-if I ride with serious rider, at 160 heart rate during and
140 afterward--without carbs, my riding is very poor
Higher intensity seems to need carb burning
for most individuals...
-some: can burn just fat at very high
heart rate
-each person has to figure this out for
themselves
