Post-Conditioning Pressing Small Workout

New progression! Back up to the 80s on incline dumbbells except now, each dumbbell is over half my bodyweight! Today I don’t have much time so I’m only blasting out doubles but they feel good. Probably 1-2 RIR depending on how long I rest between sets. I’m particularly happy about this as it’s fasted and immediately following a decent, sub-59:00 minute 30K bike!

After 5 sets of doubles, I shut the pressing down. When load is high, volume inversely needs to go down to balance against fatigue and exposure to potential injury. With that, I did some heavy-ish machine lateral raises as a pressing accessory. Strong, healthy shoulders are key to pressing power and stability, especially post injury and with dumbbells. I did 5 sets of these in the 10+ rep range, 0-1 RIR just shy of, or right up to failure and shut it down
