AmericasGodlyHeritage
The Jamestown colony was marked by wrong priorities. The Virginia Company focused on profits and kept sending ships packed with colonists instead of desperately needed supplies. They then found themselves starving through the winter and resorted to cannibalism to survive.

A new and competent governor finally arrived at the colony and brought order to the chaos. However, he also kidnapped Pocahontas, and she ultimately helped bring peace between the Native Americans and the settlers. A few years later the colony began to enjoy some prosperity and to create the first representative assembly in North America.
