European Adventure and Pilgrimage 26: The Iron Cross

It is at the highest altitude on the 500 mile pilgrimage. You carry a rock (as a burden" for the whole pilgrimage, and you leave it here to unburden yourself. It's a symbolic gesture.
The past and history of this Iron cross is lost to time, but the tradition remains.
