Depression Tip #23: Loneliness!💙

Depression can be a very lonely illness to have and there's many reasons for that. Let's look at a few. 💙

First of all, there's the relationship with the medical establishment. Modern medicine loves to find a problem and come up with an easy solution. Depression is generally much more complicated than that and the medicines that may help, may help to a certain degree, but generally they aren't the entire answer. That can lead to a feeling of isolation and loneliness. 💙

There's also the stigma and the stereotypes that come with depression. People think they have a handle on it and they understand it and they give you advice when they really don't.💙

There's also the opposite, where friends and family may not know what best to say, so they back away instead. 💙

It's important to try to counteract that feeling of loneliness and isolation and how you do that will be different for each person.💙

Someone may benefit from social media, some people may like to find friends that quietly sit together, and some people may benefit enormously from getting a therapeutic relationship.💙
