Two Things You Need to do when Setting up Your Google Ad Campaign

Before setting up your Google Ad Campaign, you need to do these two things;

1. In your campaign settings turn off Display Networks. Ideally, you want to also turn off search Networks but can keep running for the first month of the campaign. After a month, come back and see if it is converting in your Google Ads dashboard or if it is just wasting your Ad Spent. If it is not converting after a month, turn it off as well.

2. You want to adjust your Geo-targeting and Target the areas you want your ads to show in by default, the presence or interest option will be selected because Google wants to spend as much of your money as possible. So if this option is selected, it will show your ads to people outside of the area you have selected.

So instead, select "Presence People in or Regularly in your Target Location" because you only want to target people who live in your target area, which would be the city your business is located in.
