BAIER: “Yeah. To be fair, Dana Bash, they were given 20 minutes, she got 27, but 16 with Kamala Harris. Remember, Tim Walz was there. She did have some follow-ups to pin Vice President Harris down on some of those flip-flops and other aspects of it. The Walz answers also, after all of this build-up to this interview to say that the whole military dust-up and his history was because of grammar didn’t seem like it met the moment but that’s just what a lot of people seemed to say one day later.”
CONTINETTI: “A lot of people are right. Kamala Harris had 39 days to prepare for this interview, Bret. Whatever preparation she did didn’t show. She couldn’t answer the first question which is a Gimme if you are a presidential candidate, what will you do on day one? As much as Dana Bash tried to provide her options to answer some of these questions, Harris seemed, I think, lacking confidence and uncertain in many of her answers. But her fundamental problem is that she is running as a change candidate while still in office. And you can pretend that she’s somehow going to chart a new path forward but nothing she said in that interview suggests that a Harris administration would be any different than a Biden Administration unless it’s a little bit more to the left than the four years under Biden.”
