In this latest edition of 'Canna We Talk Now?' Podcast, Stephen meets Ana Maria Rodriguez Saez to discuss her background first as as a working pharmacist in Ireland, where she spent 8 memorable years and developed what the locals would call a true 'Grá' for the country!
Her time there took her through Waterford, Thurles and ending up in Clonakilty.
As we learn in the clip Ana has been on a constant educational journey ever since later becoming a qualified and dietitian, with a focus on integrative health and the potential benefits of medical cannabis.
These skills form the pillars of her own clinic 'Anafar' in Seville in the south of Spain.
Her introduction into the world of Cannabis as a medicine came about with the shock diagnosis of her sister's discovery of a brain tumor. Ana didn't think twice but returned to Spain and Madrid to help her sister and find out everything she good about the successes of the interaction between Cannabis and Cancer.
This makes this a vital watch for anyone affected by the disease and similarly curious. Her quest to learn everything about the plant and it's interactions with the human body took her to Oregon a State where Cannabis has been legal since 2014. She worked hands on through the full process of cultivation through extraction and all pharmacological analysis in the lab. Oregon had hoped she would stay as an educator but their loss was absolutely Spain's gain as the bright young Pharmacist came back to Europe.

We also briefly address the current regulatory landscape for medical cannabis in Europe, with Ana sharing her experiences and concerns about the restrictive nature of policies in Spain and Ireland.
The conversation concluded with a discussion on the importance of empathy and understanding in addressing drug-related issues, and a commitment to further engagement between Ireland and Ana's work.

The Irish Canna Clinic hopes to integrate this brilliant experience and we hope to develop many integrative health projects going forward!
