Is Depression A Risk Factor For Dementia?💙

Is depression a risk factor for dementia? Well I've looked at several scientific papers online including a meta review which looks at all other published scientific papers on a specific topic and they tend to agree that yes depression is a risk factor for dementia. 💙

From the literature I've read it seems like having depression doubles your risk of subsequently getting dementia. It's actually quite a complicated picture and science doesn't yet have all the pieces so the relationship between depression and dementia is quite complicated. 💙

But if you have depression then healing from depression is vitally important if you want to give yourself the best chance of staying away from subsequent dementia. That's what I'm trying to do and that's what I advocate other people do is living as healthy as you possibly can which helps you recover from depression and it also therefore would help prevent subsequent dementia. 💙
