Post-Conditioning Pressing & Shoulders

I began with Incline Dumbbell Press. I hit a warmup set with the 55s then did l several sets of triples with the 70s to index towards more strength work but with enough aggregate volume to contribute to some hypertrophy as well
-
Next, I did “Louie’s,” Barbell Pushups in the bottom of the rack outside for a slight decline pressing angle. These were brief, in the 20-25 rep range to get extra blood into my shoulders and elbows after all the dumbbell triples I just did

Then, for the second week in a row, I’m adding in these Lifefitness Pec Deck Chest Flyes to get that outer pec at a “flat” angle so that completes the joint angle trifecta along with incline and decline

Then last, as part of my current “experiment” I’m adding in Machine Lateral Raises on my pressing days too. Lateral raises aren’t particularly fatiguing or a significant enough amount of additional training volume as to be deleterious. The only downside is making the time commitment like any other exercise.

My triceps have made it clear that too much extra work causes orthopedic issues so my efforts in that regard are best spent in my pressing intensity and volume. That frees up a bit of room in my weekly MRV so I’m gonna see what happens when I “plug that hole” with extra delt work 🤷🏾‍♂️
