Without really realizing it, we diverge from our original timeline and get a sense of what would happen when A.I. actually takes over. After proving our worth, more or less, when using quadruple gatling gun on the metal snake, we are ordered to head down into the dark depths of Watchpoint Alpha. We investigate what happened to BALAM and the RedGuns, where we quickly learn about a still active security system with big lasers and missiles, then a droid disguised as a Transformer. With our first win under our belt for quadruple gatling gun strategy, we work to take more victories by showing off to the corporations so that we can take on tougher foes. This gets the attention of a new girl, Kate, who doesn't really spit the details of her arrival or reasons, just tells us we gotta put bullets in people. We find a surprisingly amount of nothing to do during the fourth chapter of the second playthrough, but get a nice battle invasion from a random while "talking" with our Rust Buddy. This doesn't really seem to change anything, so it's practically left to be ignored. However, we eventually get to the point of either having to accept or deny our needy girlfriend's request, and must take the former in the matter, as we need to see how big of an explosion the Xylem can make and if it's better than some Coral container. Rolling through the new timeline of Rubicon, we head down deep into the Coral convergence and learn that not much has changed, but there are some subtle differences. We're also backed by our Rusty Buddy, who took on some Redgun A.C.s, one of which died from a "bad fall", then our needy girlfriend talks about wondering why we're being told to do things. Getting back into the "job" being done on Rubicon, we deal with the corporations that seem to get upset we don't listen to them, but then forget about it next day and ask for us to help them again. Even though we clearly did the Redguns dirty, the Balam corporation (who own Redgun) still wants to work with us in breaking other corporations' stuffs--because of course they do! We descend into madness, where we first test how good this supposed "shield" is in thwarting off intruders. Honestly, solid 7--got me good, but not but could've make the boom more boomy. We then nearly get trapped, but that is hardly an issue, until we're given a choice; Fight a lot of guys, or Fight a lot of MORE guys. I'm sure you could guess which option I choose... With nearly every weapon and mech piece to my name, minus the weird legs, I go for only the most viable build; Double Gatling-Gun (and you can't tell me otherwise). Taking victory (after a slight explosion malfunction), we assess the situation with our team lone wolf fighter's actions, going along "The Wall" that one company wanted and another "borrowed". Through the text audio logs (yes, that's a thing apparently) we piece together that V.IV Rusty is a bit shady, the exact quality of pilot we hope to be. Although we did not get our wolf emblem from the base game, we make a custom one to prove we are the lone wolf that will reign supreme against these corporate defenders. Can't even call them warriors, since they can't handle a single Armored Core unit, but I'd be afraid too if one rolled up baring a soda companies sigil. Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon almost needs no explanation... Almost. Having evolved technology to endure proper space travel, Humans (ew...) have found new and more resources on a remote planet called Rubicon. Many a year ago, a devastating cataclysmic event, known as the Ibis, formed and burned nearly all of life along the planet's surface, leaving only ashes and metal behind. Several scavenging groups continue to excavate the planet for resources, with one out-law mercenary (YOU) going in to make a name for yourself and gain back a life once lost to time. We finally begin our journey into metal madness as some stranger wakes us up from our nap, saying we need to use our Alternative Gundam; known as an Armored Core (A.C.). We apparently don't have a license to operate in this area... So we're gonna "borrow" one from someone that isn't in need of it anymore from their wreckage.
