Hemingway on Harris Narrowing the Gap in Polls: Trump Campaign Predicted a ‘Much Bigger Bounce’

BAIER: “Mollie, surprised by 48 hours of consolidation and these poll numbers or not?”
HEMINGWAY: “No, I don’t think it’s surprising at all and, in fact, the Trump campaign had predicted that there would be probably a much bigger bounce than you are seeing here. Democrats were in a very bad situation. They really did not like who their nominee was. They are very happy to have literally anyone else and if that’s Kamala Harris, that’s fine. I wonder though how things are going to go as this campaign advances? Kamala Harris has not really been talking about her record, particularly in swing states. You know, her opposition to American energy in Pennsylvania is probably not going to be a huge asset. Also, I think the Trump campaign has not yet had a chance to really identify her as part of the Biden-Harris presidency which is a failed presidency. And so those fundamentals of the race are going to come back in at some point here.”
