Episode 312: God's purpose for Election
Hello everyone. In tonight's Bible study we continue our series on Foundation: Revelation, Purpose, & Determined.
Tonight we discover God's purpose for Election. Election? Yes, election. I realize that there are a lot of people who do not believe in the doctrine of election but does that make it untrue? No, it does not.
My friend, the doctrine of election is definitely biblical and is taught in every New Testament book and in almost all the prophets. There is no denying that it is biblical.
Now with that said, what does the scriptures truly teach concerning election by God. The scriptures teach that everyone is conceived in sin and born sinners without doing any good or evil. Because we are born sinners that makes all of us guilty of sinning against God.
You may ask, how does my birth make me guilty? We all inherit the sin nature from our parents, primarily our fathers who carry the seed. Because we are deemed sinners God is, in all fairness, justified for punishing all sinners by condemning us to death in eternal damnation in hell which is called outer darkness in the lake of fire.
What this mean is, if you want God to be fair then EVERYONE GOES TO HELL and NO ONE GOES TO HEAVEN!
However because God is merciful, compassionate, and gracious, God has determined to show some of the guilty sinners who deserves the death penalty, mercy and grace through His faith. God does this by becoming a Man, Jesus Christ, then putting His Son Jesus to death as if He committed your original sin and acts of sins. Jesus took your death sentence and my death sentence.
This allowed God to pardon us, declaring us not guilty because the penalty for our sins are paid by Jesus. God "elects" to show SOME MERCY, yet God leaves and allows the other guilty sinners in their sin to pay the penalty for being a guilty sinner which is perfect fairness, perfect righteousness, and perfect justice.
Tonight's study is 53 minutes in duration. I have broken it into two segments. This is segment 1 of 2 titled "God's purpose for Election."
