‘He Committed to Debating Donald Trump Again’: Thiessen on Biden’s Press Conference

ROBERTS: “Democrats, many are looking at last night’s news conference that was filled, but he seems to have saved himself by now. But here’s what one anonymous Democrat aide told “Politico,” this is the worst of all worlds, it was damaging for Biden’s prospects, but not so bad it provides enough fodder to use this to dump him from the ticket. In other words, he did not kill himself last night, so the Democratic Party is in trouble.”
THIESSEN: “They were looking for him to implode completely to get it over with. The other thing that he did last night in that press conference that was very damaging that nobody is paying attention to is he committed to debating Donald Trump again. He said next time, next debate I’m not going to be traveling 15 times, so that means he is doing it again. So if you are a Democrat and he stays on the ticket, guess what, he is going to be doing on September 10, ABC News and there is going to be another face-off and they are going to have face-to-face and going to see this beautiful experience all over again.”
