Acts - Chapter 24 Summary:

Acts chapter 24 details Paul's trial before Governor Felix in Caesarea. The high priest Ananias, along with some elders and a lawyer named Tertullus, present their case against Paul, accusing him of being a troublemaker, stirring up riots among Jews worldwide, and attempting to desecrate the temple. Paul defends himself by refuting the accusations, stating that he was in Jerusalem to worship and bring offerings, not to incite unrest. He emphasizes that his accusers cannot prove their charges and asserts his belief in the resurrection, aligning himself with the Pharisees. Felix, familiar with the Way (Christianity), adjourns the proceedings, keeping Paul under guard but granting him some freedoms and allowing his friends to visit. Over the next two years, Felix frequently converses with Paul, hoping for a bribe, but ultimately leaves Paul imprisoned when he is succeeded by Porcius Festus, wanting to appease the Jewish leaders.
