Acts - Chapter 20 Summary:

Acts chapter 20 narrates Paul's continued missionary efforts, his farewell to the Ephesian elders, and his journey towards Jerusalem. After the uproar in Ephesus, Paul travels through Macedonia and Greece, encouraging the disciples. He plans to sail to Syria but changes his route due to a Jewish plot, traveling back through Macedonia instead. In Troas, Paul holds a late-night meeting in an upstairs room, where a young man named Eutychus falls from a window and is presumed dead. Paul revives him, and they continue their meeting until dawn. Paul travels to Miletus, where he summons the elders of the Ephesian church for a farewell address. He recounts his ministry among them, emphasizing his humility, the trials he faced, and his dedication to preaching the gospel. He urges them to be vigilant and shepherd the church, warning them of future false teachers. Paul expresses his deep affection for them and his willingness to face imprisonment and hardships for the sake of the gospel. After praying together, they part with much sorrow, knowing they would likely never see him again. Paul then continues his journey towards Jerusalem, determined to complete his mission despite the dangers that await him.
